From all accounts, the Pink Gingerbread from "Dragons In Manhattan" appears to be based on The Red Victorian, a very real venue in San Francisco...

If I were a hotel, I would definitely be the Red Vic. After thoroughly purusing the site, I've decided that this place is freaking AMAZING and I need to visit there at least once before I die. And since I'm planning to move to San Fran after college to do theatre, I can in all probability accomplish this :) Hell, perhaps I can even get a day job working for them before my career picks up...or at least just go there for some yummy vegan food and World Conversation groups!

(Who knows, when I'm ready to have kids, maybe I'll take a cue from Izzy and Anastasia and conceive 'em there ;D)

The Red Vic is one of my favorite places in San Francisco...it's in the middle of the Haight-Ashbury district, surrounded by hippies and people slamming poetry in the middle of the street and people shopping at the awesome little stores. I smile every time I go by it.
