I had a very "Duh" moment today....

While on the way home from work & stopping at Whole Foods to get something to eat...I thought, "If I recycle both paper and plastic, which should I ask for at the checkout to reduce my environmental footprint?" And then, "Duh Jenny - bring your own reusable bag!".

I realized I was asking the wrong question. And then I was enlightened (sort of).

Steve, I like you but sometimes you gotta google / wikipedia these things for yourself...

Short answer: Environmental footprint is the negative imact our lifestyles can have on the rest of the ecosystem.

Some stores / websites sell canvas ones - whole foods or green home living store might have them, not sure. I received a cute denim tote for Christmas from a friend of my mom's who makes them, so I might keep that one in the car. You can also get patterns from the Big 4 patternmakers I'm sure.

I think that's an awesome lenten goal!!

Another thing is when you only buy 1 or 2 items and they can be held / put in a pocket or your purse, don't get a bag from the cashier. That's my MO when buying stuff like a few books, or a snack from the convenience store.
