My house is a mess, but do I care? Well, okay, I care a little, LOL. But instead of cleaning, I'm sewing. I'm actually working on my daughter's costume. I'm sewing!!!!! ROTFL

You're such a good mom!! I'm impressed! I haven't even thought about Halloween costumes yet!! I better, because it's just a week away!! We'll probably run to Walmart at the last minute and there will only be the crappy ones left! Yikes! Maybe Andrew can just be Paul Hamm again! That's what he was last year! Everybody got it last year, but this year people would probably go, Paul who??
I wouldn't say I'm a "good mom", LOL... I'm doing this more for me than for Kiersten, who would undoubtedly be perfectly happy in a store-bought costume. But one of the reasons I took up sewing was specifically so I could make Halloween costumes for Kiersten, hopefully that would be prettier than those found in the store. I think I'm doing this just to prove I can.
I just hit my first "snafu"--a batch of directions in the pattern that make very little sense to me. I'm very glad right now that I have a seam-ripper, 'cause I know I'm gonna make a mistake or two right about now. LOL
That's a sad thought--that Andrew could go as Paul Hamm and people would say "Paul Who??" Then again Paul himself would probably like it better that way--you know, getting back to a normal life and all that. ;)
awww, nicole that's cool! my mom made halloween costumes for my sis and me when we were little... although it was easy when it came to me, cause every year i was the same thing. haha. good luck!!
Thanks! I would love to be a Halloween-costume-making-mom. As I told Carol, it's the reason I wanted to get into sewing in the first place. Hopefully Kiersten will excitedly tell everyone about her mom, the costume-designer. LOL
Actually Kiersten's wanted to be a princess for the last 3 years (and specifically Cinderella, both last year and this year)... the only trouble is, she keeps growing and necessitating a new costume!!
Aww that's so cool! you're making your daughter a costume!! I wanna see it! LOL! what is she gonna be? I can't wait for Halloween! we're having a party at the preschool and all the teachers and the kids are gonna dress up! it should be interesting! LOL!
She's going to be a princess. And she says she'll be Cinderella (it really won't matter what the costume looks like, LOL, she'll be Cinderella no matter what). I do plan to take a photo and show everyone how it turned out. :)
heheheee! ALL of my girls at work say the same thing!! ROTFL!! it's so funny! they ALL wanna be princesses!! hehehe!!! I have ONE girl who said she is gonna a be a "mean witch" soooooooo cute LOL! I can't wait to see the costume :) I'm sure It'll be beautiful :)
ooo! sounds like it's gonna be perty!!! can't wait for pictures either...I tried sewing myself a jumper in jr. high...wow...it's hard, I only have so much patience for it!! my mom makes it look so easy! I just need more practice I guess. you sound like me, I love to figure out how to do things on my own...
