MY THOUGHTS ON DIAMOND DUST REBELLION pt1

To be honest, I didn't have high hopes for this movie in the first place. I was well aware they made it only because of tinycaptain's popularity. However, I was also excited because hey more Hitsugaya means more Matsumoto and I really do like seeing the two of them work together as well! In that respect, it really didn't disappoint.
However, this movie kind of... well. Raped the timestream. YOU'LL SEE (lots of pictures). Lots of QUALITY animation. AND I REALLY DO MEAN LOTS OF PICTURES. Over 100 to be exact.
The movie starts out with a royal procession. That's very nice and pretty and all but do you need to have all of this to move a seal?
Dancers and music and priests and. Right. THAT'S TOTALLY SUBTLE GUYS.
1:30 in and Matsumoto's telling people not to get lazy on her. YOU TELL THEM.
Also she's describing this King's Seal thing as like NOBODY BUT THE ROYAL FAMILY KNOWS, and they're the only ones who can look at it, and blah blah, and it has the power to set things in motion~ (And rape the timestream). If it's that fucking important WHY DOESN'T IT STAY in the dimension with the royal family.
You know, the one people can't get into??
Also according to the movie Matsumoto can shunpo a fair distance-- about er, a mile or so, possible.
3 minutes in: ATTAACK. And apparently they have NO WAY of defending attacks. Although the tenth division goes in to try to save people, four of them are seemingly KILLED and Matsumoto makes creative use of Haineko.
Meanwhile there's a firebomb running through the parade and Hitsugaya is nowhere in - oh there he is. WAY TO FAIL TAICHOU.
WHAT IS THIS? JUST WHAT.
So tinycaptain runs off, never to be seen again. THE END OF THE MOVIE. (O we wish)
And that was just the prologue. JOY OF JOYS. Anyway, cut to Ichigo who CAN FLYYYYYYYYYYYY and is, in fact, flying.
This part confuses me because I had been under the impression that the King's Seal had been moved through SOUL SOCIETY. However, Ichigo approaches woodland and is flying over... fields or something that look exactly the same as the ones the King's Seal had been over when it was attacked. Is it an overlying dimension? Was there a barrier up? I. I have no idea.
In any case, he feels an edge of the barrier and cuts his own path into it, and it's... a little bizarre. Maybe the barrier was connecting whatever realm the King's Seal had been into with the real world? I have no fucking idea and this movie doesn't either.
Someone forgot their ninja scarf.
Also this is my third rewatch and I THINK I'm understanding? That a barrier was set up specifically for the transfer of the king's seal. Which Soi Fong then breaks.
SUDDENLY TINYCAPTAIN (how did no one sense him before). OH RIGHT, he was hiding his reiatsu.
God I hate Yamamoto in movies. The reason C26 existed was so that he didn't make decisions, I SWEAR.

Okay on the plus side, I do like seeing her more responsible and serious side, as well as seeing her interact with other people in her division. On the OTHER HAND, it's like. What.

Unfortunately my screen is apparently showing this movie as much darker because I literally CANNOT see scenes because they are so dark.
I swear Hitsugaya gets about a hundred times more stupid in this movie. Also since when was he so EMOTIONAL?
MATCHING ARRANCAR GIRLS.
So obviously he and Ichigo are being attacked, the smart thing to do is to FIGHT ICHIGO, RIGHT HITSUGAYA?
Also I think this scene is going to generate more Ichigo/Hitsugaya shippers. Yay.
ICHIGO IS THAT BADASS. The enemies are like "WHO IS HE???"
He's the main character bitches. (well, main character outside of this movie)
You know, I had been under the impression that Shunpo was a very impressive yet hard move for people to do-- although it seems most people can use it to an extent, it takes a lot more experience and power to use it really well. Except in this movie, everyone and THEIR MOM can use it.

So there's a scene/flashback where the Central 46 is tleling Hitsugaya and this Kusaka person that THEY HAVE TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH. because only ONE PERSON can have Hyourinmaru.

FYI, Hinamori never shows up, she's only mentioned. Also again, when exactly does this movie take place?

Also yes, she is in fact sitting alone by herself in a dark room. Emoing. [SOB] I'm still not certain if this is her room(s) or if she's in another division's place, becaue it's surprisingly plain for her. I mean. yeah.

Somehow Nanao gets roped into DOING ALL THE WORK. ;D

How about angry that he's an idiot who runs off on his own for JUSTICE!!!
Looking at this, I half wonder if KT didn't come out with Hitsugaya's background story (which debunked the entire plot) out of spite for the writers of the movie.

Is there really any use attempting to sneak up on him when he can SENSE YOUR REIATSU?
Obviously when attempting to capture a captain, one must send TWO vice-captains (although Shuuhei is the acting captain of 9th). GOOD PLAN.
This is actually a decent idea of those two (combining their sword strength to keep Hitsugaya like that).
