i'm reading, 'this land is our land' a book cultural and ethnic diversity in miami as a result of the humungous wave of immigration we've had for the past forty years. the chapter i'm on is about miami haitians and how they assimilate into "african americans". it even translates a bit of slang, which i found pretty funny:
