Didn't Get to Visit the Bunny Today.

Oh well.  I'm really bummed about that.  And obviously that means he didn't come home today, either.  He spent most of yesterday and part of today in a special oxygen cage because he was having a little trouble breathing, on account of his belly being so full from tube-feeding.  His gut still isn't moving things out the other end at the proper pace ( Read more... )

Advantage and frontline do in fact actually kill ticks, not just discourage them. Of course you know already not to use any dog products on kitties, right?
I hope he comes home soon, and feels enough better to play with his cat before too long!

Okay, great - good to know! I did know about cat vs. dog treatments, but wasn't sure about whether or not it actually *kills* ticks. Glad to know it does! Can I get that stuff at PetSmart, or do I still have to drive to the vet's office to buy it, do you know ( ... )

You probably have to get it at the vet, I don't think the companies that make the good top spot stuff will sell to pet stores, only to clinics. It does take day or two to kill ticks, but really, if Catzilla grooms himself he'll most likely have already removed any he picks up..
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure that the advantage product that kills ticks is cat-safe (their cat flea stuff may not get ticks at all), but frontline is, and does.
