I seem to be appallingly bad at posting photos of knitting projects.  I have an absolutely gorgeous large lace circle shawl that I knitted out of my own handspun Monster yarn & finished last summer that I still haven't gotten around to posting here.  Needless to say, it's one of my most prized possessions, especially now.

So today I found myself accidentally weeding the garden.

It's actually the *only* way I ever weed the garden.  I come home, I intend to go inside, and somehow or other I end up weeding instead.  It bears mentioning that this is the first time all year that weeding has happened, so it's sort-of amazing I have a garden left at all.  But I think that's ( Read more... )

I'm still alive, apparently, and so is TMHM.

Catzilla has settled down.  He's no longer zinging off the walls for lack of a playmate.  Now, instead, he's taken to sleeping in all of the Monster's old favorite spots, as if he's keeping them warm for him in his absence.  Maybe they still smell like bunny to him, and that's comforting.  I wonder ( Read more... )

Today at around 3 or 3:30 pm my Bunny of Joy passed.  Another infection set in, and he went swiftly downhill and into cardiac arrest.  I am utterly bereft and stunned and torn to pieces.  This wasn't supposed to happen.  He was supposed to get better.  He *was* getting better.  But. And then.

Oh well.  I'm really bummed about that.  And obviously that means he didn't come home today, either.  He spent most of yesterday and part of today in a special oxygen cage because he was having a little trouble breathing, on account of his belly being so full from tube-feeding.  His gut still isn't moving things out the other end at the proper pace ( Read more... )

Saturday & Sunday, after a week & a half of rainy ridiculousness, I got back on my skates!  And, I am happy to report that while my foot & leg muscles could definitely tell there'd been a break in my practice, my facility at the tricks I've been teaching myself hasn't suffered any - muscle memory remains firm!  YAY!  That's a relief.  TMHM & I ship ( Read more... )
