I am a mother now
but I don't feel like a "mom"
like the women
in those parenting magazines
who listen to CDs
of kids
singing pop songs
in their vans
and forget who they used to be.

I feel like a Me
with a She
to love
and take care of.

It's Our Life
with an angel
in it.

So beautifully/perfectly said.

I've always told myself that IF I'm ever a mother, I have to do whatever I can to stay ME, because the stereotypical looks so uninviting. It's partly why I've said "no way" the last few years.

IF I have what you have some day, I hope to have it the WAY you have it. :)

I hope you are indeed a mother someday! You are so loving & have so much to give a new little person.

I was pleased that there was no sudden MOM feeling; even my pregnancy didn't feel the way I thought it LOOKED when I saw other pregnant women, nor did the birth -- I was just me, going through this new experience. I think it would be the same for you; you would make it your own.

This is the first time I have been on here in, more than likely, over a year. Its amazing how time can change things, and people can grow. You have a stunning daughter, and it's so comforting to see you doing well. It's funny how even though we haven't been in touch in ages, there are still small things that remind me of you, and I wonder what and how you're doing. It appears that you couldn't be doing any better.

I agree... I always mean to write on LiveJournal more often, and I always think that when I do, everyone will still be there to read it... and then I realize it was years ago and and that little LiveJournal world I had doesn't exist anymore. It kind of bothers me! I still think that So-And-So is having problems in high school, and That Person can't wait to move out of her parents' basement... but So-And-So is probably out of college, and That Person is married and has her own apartment. I guess the same could be said for me -- I'm not drinking green apple Smirnoffs by myself and dancing around in my attic bedroom at my mom's house, writing prose about That Boy... I married That Boy, and yes, thanks, I'm doing great. :)
