"Heaven-Haven"
-A nun takes the veil-

I have desired to go
Where springs not fail,
To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail
And a few lilies blow.

And I have asked to be
Where no storms come,
Where the green swell is in the havens dumb,
And out of the swing of the sea.

-Gerard Manley Hopkins

That's the guy who uses the word "dappled" in every other poem and likes to rearrange his grammar.

(In response to the comment you left in my journal.)

I have debated this issue many, many times with Catholics and people of other faiths, and my stance is still the same. I want to maintain a certain spirit in the community by having only members that have been regenerated by Christ. We have something, by the grace of God, that others do not, and it makes for a spirit of unity among us. It's not just my particular wish to keep the group protestants-only, but many of the members back me up on this and say that they too appreciate the way the community is for having the membership the way it is. I can't say whether you or any other particular Catholic person is saved or not, but I have made this rule to help aid in keeping the community what it is.

You are welcome, however, to read all our public posts. And there are many other curly haired communities on LJ that will allow any type of person to join.

Interesting soteriology. I am glad you have let me know you do not decide my spiritual fate. I was seriously worried about that one.

Catholics are saved by grace. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Works do not redeem me, but they show to the world that Christ is my Savior and that I live for Him.

Works might not save, but living a life for Christ is still nessisary. I could provide you with links and better explanations, but it sound like you have made up your own mind already.

Interesting you speak of 'a spirit of unity'...the same spirit of unity Christ felt, when he fellowshipped with the tax collectors and prostitutes? The same redeeming love you speak of is the same kind that shuts outs others of a different denomination? Interesting. Do explain.

How many Catholics are you saving by shutting us out, if we are such a force of evil? Do you really care for the supposedly nessisary salvation for our souls, if you don’t even want us in your private community about hair? What are you afraid of? If you ( ... )

I'm so happy I'm no longer protestant.
"Regenerated by Christ"? What's that supposed to mean? The resurrection of the body hadn't happened, last time I checked.
I suppose you mean accepted Christ as your personal savior? Yawn. I did that. I still do.
But, I'm a Catholic, so you don't want me. BZZZT, apparently the "regenerated by Christ" thing isn't the real reason.

Sorry to pop in your journal, lackofsatin. Maybe we should form a group for us curly haired Catholics? "Catholic Curly Hair Elitist Group! Not showing the love of Christ to heretics since 2006!"

Gah! No! We don't need a flame war- that's not the point. That is the total opposite of the point!

While, yes, the 'regeneration' seems to be so very far from the real issue here, no need to get snarky, least others immediatly assume all Catholics are out to flame. I know you're not, but, you know, don't want anything to somehow turn the entire Prostestant people against all Catholics. I did just tell her that our myself and others of our kind would not wreak havok in her hair community.

I thought about making my own group, but there is a group- for 'our kind of people' and others- about CG already. So, my Catholic curls are at least welcome somewhere. :)
