just for the record, I don't really pity him if he only stayed up until midnight. dofaye November 27 2009, 19:03:43 UTC
It was normals for Rosemarine's to be inexplicably absent from dinner and he never had been the sort to lounge around with the other students, so when Jules spent the better part of the day not seeing his friend, he thought nothing of it. Rosemarine was doubtlessly holed up in his office doing one important thing or another (Jules had never managed to be up-to-date on the specifics; Rosemarine was the one who got things done and Jules was the one who kept him from working himself to death ( ... )

Sorry, Jules. If Rosemarine was in any conscious state of mind, he would gladly acknowledge his friend's presence, but seeing that he's too busy dreaming about his childhood, please hold.

The dream took place on his backyard. He was around ten years old, surrounded by the older children, and holding a riding crop. He started pointing at the other children, commanding them to line up and stand on all fours.

"...Your turn," Rosemarine mumbled in his sleep, unconsciously resting his head on his hand.

Was Rosemarine actually asleep on the job? In all his years of knowing him, the last time Jules could remember Rosemarine doing something so undignified as falling asleep unplanned.

It was... downright adorable, really. The blond's face was only truly calm in sleep, and even though he seemed to be concentrating deeply on whatever he was dreaming about (Jules imagined that it was something painful), Rosemarine looked almost angelic. He leaned over and couldn't help but brush a stray piece of hair from his friend's face.

Well, Rosemarine already saw that coming, with his terrible working habits and all, but since he was Rosemarine, he refused to believe it until it was too late.

Back to dreamland, Rosemarine pretended one of those kids was a horse, so he decided to ride him, hitting him occasionally with his riding crop. The action infuriated Jules in the dream, causing the raven-haired boy to slap him across the cheek.

In the real, conscious world, he rubbed his nose on the table, whispering, "how dare you..," the exact time Jules decided it was a good idea to try and fix his hair.
