erin - i'm gonna be in the bay jan 25-29, and i'm gonna try and see my aunt tamar and cousin adi. will you be around? can i meet you? are you still working with/for tamar? what's your job title, anyway? i was trying to explain to my grandmother that i knew you [sorta] but i didn't know what words to use.
anyway it'll be the first time i see any of them since coming out as trans so i'm nervous, it would be rad to see a face like yours so if you're around let's hang.
hey erin. can you edit that post above [or just delete it, i've seen it now] to get rid of my old name and pronouns?
i've told my family about gender-neutral pronouns, at least parts of my family. i've told them to use 'they' and 'yonah yonah yonah' but they do their best. you know.
i'll be in the bay jan 26-31st ish, and in philly till then. which burbs is your family in? i grew up in mt airy, in nw philly.
also i called clay and we're gonna hang, thanks for the reminder... small gay world.
it's always interesting what fills in the blanks for different relatives:
dear _____________ [homo/tranny], of course i still love you. does this mean you __________________ or that you ______________? i'm sad because i feel you're choosing a harder life for yourself. people like you get beaten up a lot. but please just tell me one thing: [you're/she's/he's - circle one] not _____________, [are you/is he/is she]? please tell me so i can sleep at night.
love ________ [distraught but well-intentioned and loving relative]

I came out as "bisexual" to my mom when I was 18 but she didn't take it seriously until I had a serious girlfriend at age 25. Go figure.
