As Christmas approaches, my heart is heavy with grief. My darling baby sister died two weeks ago from an accidental overdose. Here's her myspace, which we didn't even know about: http://www.myspace.com/sarabadara7272Read more... )
Oh, no! I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I'll be sending all the empathic thoughts I have at your boss and am hoping hard that all works out for your trip.
Oh, gods, sweetie, that's just miserable. I'm sorry for you loss, and frankly you should tell you boss to go stuff it. Do what you need to do for you and your family. Take care of you. Wanting to spend the holdiays with your family, especially in light of the fact you just had a serious loss, is not weak, nor could it ever ever make you a bad person. *hugs*
I know it's cliche', but...yasmine_patheDecember 19 2007, 21:53:55 UTC
When you look back at your life, it ain't the things you did you'll regret; it's the things you DID NOT do. Not hugging, not touching, not speaking... Tell your boss you like your job, but you love your family...gotta go.
Sometime ago, a friend offered up a great decision-barometer: a year from now, will it matter if I did/did not do this thing? A year from now, I doubt the relative contents of your inbox on Dec 26, 2007 will have much impact on your life.
You have my deepest sympathy. I wish I could say I have no idea how you feel...
