Laundry question...

How do you sort your laundry?? As in, do you do whites and darks? Where do tans and light colors go? Do you have more division than that?

WIll explain why I ask later...needless to say it involves DH!!

If we sort (like if we have a lot to do at once), it's lights and darks so tans and light colors would go in with the whites unless we were doing a bleach load. More often then not, everything goes together and we wash on cold. :P

I sort by whites and colors.

The tans and light colors go into the whites and I usually wash those on warm or if really, really dirty on hot. The colors get washed in cold.

I know some people wash towels or jeans by themselves, but I just don't have the time or energy to do that. They get thrown in with the regular clothes.

I do whites, darks, my work clothes, towels, jeans/DH's work pants, girls' clothes and colors - which is where the tans and light colors go.

In our house, it just all goes in together! We have very few new items and when I do get new stuff that is dark, I try to make an mainly dark load, but usually I put everything in together on cold water. The only thing I wash separately are the towels and sheets, since those are washed on warm. I hate to sort clothes, we don't have much room to do it and we don't have enough whites/lights at the end of the day to worry about it. I haven't ruined anything yet this way!
