RPDR- gurl- Have you ever seen one of Ru's challenges? those bitches over there can sew! This guy however can't.
Oh, I've seen some of the contestants at RPDR that really couldn't sew! It's always a disaster, though.
I'm totally agreeing about Amanda. I think everyone is. She is really really annoying. why couldn't they have given us worthy call-backs?
You think Emily is '86? I really felt it was closer to the 70s with the whole jumpsuit thing. I don't remember jumpsuits in the 80s. In any case, it was pretty boring. The jacket was the only interesting thing about it. Too bad the pic doesn't show it.
I really liked Mitchell's look here. I thought it was quirky and different. I'm hoping he continues with that vibe.
Char has bored me pretty much so far.
It's really sad that Sandhya's all they're getting for the demand for fashion that's not same-o, same-o. You'd think they'd be able to find more of what they're looking for in the initial applications.
To me the only outfits that vaguely make sense are Fäde's and Mitchel's. I can understand an approach that says that fashion will become more and more revealing and/or sort of sporty - or just the opposite, so I could go with something like "shabby chic" or even burka. 20 years is not that long and I guess we're headed that way. But then, who am I to say that. I guess Angela's "slutty" pants would have been good here.
Apart from those two I like nothing, simple as that. Sandhya's seem cliché, but at least not that ordinary.
Btw, "Fäde" is neither a German name nor word. It's just an affectation; he obviously wanted to Germanise "fade", so his whole name means " fade to grey". *rolls eyes*
OMG I WAS THINKING THAT. How cool it would be if someone says, well, the Middle East has a renaissance and this is a burka-inspired fashion piece. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO COOL.

Ugh, this does not surprise me. I like his work but I really can't stand him.
Hate to be unoriginal and just say "agree with your conclusions," but in fact, I do. Actually, I don't feel competent to judge today's fashions (I knew a lot in the 60s!) but, as with art "I know what I like." And I liked none of this stuff

Neither do I, that's why I rely on mi_nion for schooling me. 'Course, it doesn't stop me from posting! This post is just for basic liking/not liking and venting, cuz god knows there's enough reason for that.
Amanda is way too full of herself; I hope she continues to be shot down by the judges. Girl needs an injection of humility.
Ugh, isn't that true. Her arch tone of surprise at the judges telling her she sucked made me want to smack her.
you need thicker skin for this type of show
Exactly, Tim was just right when he told her it was probably for the best. The thing that's too bad is that her ideas and execution weren't the worst of all of them. But clearly she was not going to go far.
the guy especially loves to say meanly "funny" things to the designersZac Posen? I personally think that's in the category of "thick skin" - it's nothing people don't say, but we're supposed to not be public about it. Or constructive. There are limits, tho, and he really pushes them. I was
