PR S13 Ep 4, or, the ReGretchening

Aug 15, 2014 11:10

So I’m actually typing this up as the show is being telecast because I’m going on a vacation weekend upstate so I have to do the write-up quick or I won’t get this posted tomorrow (and good thing cuz I didn't get the images until an hour before I left). I may not be able to respond (my computer’s probably not coming with me). The designers are off ( Read more... )

No, the judges CANNOT be that blind and stupid. Or can they? Fringe? I give up.

Yes, Fade's was the best, absolutely, a sure win. Also Kini - loved his look. Also liked Kristine's.

Some others were okay, but Sandya continues to confuse me. Just so ugly. How is this fashion?

Poor Hernan, but he deserved to go.

I agree that Amanda is being pushed to the top. I just don't know WHY.

Fringe is apparently trending, but I have no idea why.

I liked Sandhya's outfit this week - not the top so much, but I did like the skirt. I thought it was fun, tho not particularly high fashion.

Hernan definitely deserved to go.

Amanda... no clue.

I couldn't really understand the whole Red Rubin thing. Rather crappy product placement indeed ( ... )

The product placement was the worst! They could have had them design uniforms or something - it might have been relevant. The product push was both annoying and aggravating.

At first I thought it had more creative potential for the designers but I wasn't totally impressed with the finished products

There really wasn't a whole lot of "high fashion" going on.

loved Mitchel's outfit as well simply because I love this guy.

Unfortunately, no matter how awesome someone is, I only care about the fashion, and definitely Mitchell did a lot with what he was given, but that plastic was just... okay.

Poor kini (I'm having a 'Poor Kinney' moment here lol )

Ha! I still think Fade should have won. Or even been on top!

unlike last season this time it's getting really weird

Why? I like that they can see it up close, but it doesn't seem to be helping them much.

Have a nice Vacay :)

I had a great time! Thank you

*nods* It has to be about the fashion obviously but let's face it- in these kind of shows it's also about personality. So far Mitchel seems like he's got a lot more to offer and the producers seem to think so as well because he's already getting quite a bit of screen time, unlike some of the others which I still can't even recognize ;)

Why? I like that they can see it up close, but it doesn't seem to be helping them much.Well...IDK. It was a nice change last season but this time it's quite disturbing to see them fondling the fabric and touching the model's body and so on. I know it's been done a lot in the real world of fashion but here it's kinda getting boring esp with the judges tendencies to crack jokes while checking the yet to be Auf'd garments. Not that I don't agree with some of the judges critics during the 'up close' segment but it's... not very funny (Is it meant to be? :D ( ... )

Oh, yeah, let me clarify - I definitely love to get all worked up over the jerks, but in my final analysis, it's about the fashion. So, for instance, on Master Chef I loathe Courtney, but and I'd be upset me if she wins, but at the end of the day I'll also think she deserves it because she knows what she's doing. And while I love Willie, so far his dishes haven't stacked up to hers. ...I'm using MC as the example because so far no one on PR has made me froth at the mouth (Amanda's in the running, but right now she's just annoying).

fondling the fabric and touching the model's body and so on

"Fondling the fabric," bwah! I guess it doesn't bother me when they touch the models cuz they're basically clothes hangers.

I missed ANTM's intro because on Monday I watch MC at 8 and Teen Wolf at 10. Is it on at 9? because otherwise I'm going to have to catch it on On Demand.

I'm clueless about the whole fringe thing. Is it 1967 again? Icky.

The classiest piece was Kini, no doubt about it. How could he not
have won?

If Red Robin was the sponsor, shouldn't they have had to make
a dress out of Bottomless Fries?

I dunno, it's trending. But not black crap. And it's not even the fringe per se that bothered me, it's 1) the color and 2) how she worked it in at the waistline. Neither of those worked at all.

If Red Robin was the sponsor, shouldn't they have had to make
a dress out of Bottomless Fries?

hahahhahha That would have been funny. Or out of waitress/waiter outfits! The PP was completely awkward and weird. Not in a good way.

I agree that Fade and Kini had the best looks, but considering this was suppose to be "high fashion" the rest were very pedestrian. If you had to have three best looks, I would actually choose Sandhya too. It has some humor, in a Peter Max kind of way (though I hated the looks she showed in previous challenges, especially the one she won with last week) or maybe Mitchell.

Char could have easily been on the bottom too. The collar on the blouse probably saved her, but the proportions of the outfit were completely off. The slit on the skirt was anything but clean and sleek.

Huh? no more drugs for the judges

Ha! It's so true.

I thought Sandhya's was cute, but not really high fashion. I definitely agree that Char could easily have been tossed to the bottom. That skirt was just awful.

I don't know why they are using doing this, but they did the same thing with Kate last season. Brought back a mediocre designer and then give them a series of overpraised wins before letting them go in the top 6. I think that's what will happen here. Yes fringe is in a lot of Fall2014 collections, but most are a lot nicer than this. Except Zac was right to call this a Cavalli knockoff. Heidi wears a lot of Cavalli so that's not really a compliment. He's one of those over the top tacky designers like Versace. Besides if we are going to award knockoffs the win, let award something nice like Fade's Chanel knockoff. At least that was interesting and well made ( ... )

He really was, which confused me in the final win becuase the judges had consensus about Kini but were not so in agreement with Amanda. I don't get it.

It looked like something Disney kid would wear to the Teen choice awards

Ha! That's so true!

I think she tried something that didn't work and then ran out of time to correct it. Otherwise, how do you make pants from pants and run out of fabric

It was pretty horrid. She even admitted she didn't have time for the pants.
