This challenge is: Heidi has nothing to wear and she needs a red carpet look. Since the look has already been on the red carpet and splashed across some fashion blogs, I already know which one won. But okay. “Unexpected, fashion forward, fearless.” And blinking with crystal and Christmas lights. JUST KIDDING.

I thought Fade's would have done fine on the red carpet - depends on the event. I think it should have done well for this one.
I don't mind side notes at all!
I think they're planning to bring back C Soriano again sometime soon. I wish they'd hire his ass for the permanent panel. Just so long as they don't bring back a muppet. That was low, even for PR.
I'll be sure to notice the refrigerator for sure from now on!
I always liked Tim, but I was never a fan per se. I get what you mean - he doesn't seem to be really there for the designers. He was always great on mediating and seeing the best in whomever he was working with at the moment and really helping with design - maybe they're cutting some of that? Or maybe, like Zac and Nina, he's being forcefed what he's supposed to say?
Man, I really miss the days of Santino and Andre.

Emily stayed in the workshop and thinks it’s unfair that the others got a second chance, but honestly, some people have to completely redesign their entire looks, so it’s not really helping (I think Emily wants to say “Sandhya” but isn’t).
I find it odd that Emily only said that after she asked Sandhya to bring her back something and Tim reminded them that she couldn't do it. The choice was either keep sewing or go to Mood, not both. Emily wanted to have her cake and eat it to.
I agree with the win, but in real life Heidi would have worn Emily's dress in a heartbeat.

Yay thank you!

That explains a lot. Everyone wants an advantage - makes sense in challenges that, well, challenging!
I've been enjoying T&L's reviews this season, a lot - I do want to state that I type up my comments while the show is airing and then get my pics and read the review from T&L's site after having made my own mind - tho of course over a long-term thing they influence my opinions. The PR drink the fans made up - the Santino - was hilarious! I'm assuming you've seen that. I've been hoping someone over there would explain what the hell is going on with Amanda.

Oh, lord, from your lips to god's ears. I do think Amanda is a lot less know-it-all than Gretchen, though I really dislike how Amanda responds to the judges. Of course, the judges can be real dicks too. ...but no, Nina, I just can't quit you!!!
making others think that someone is there with an extra advantage.
Ah, they're working on Sandhya too.
Seriously, was it me or were Nina and Zac practically hurting themselves trying to say nice things about Amanda's beaded sheath?

I'm starting to like Sandhaya a little - at least she's playing the game. Not sure why they were all mad about her getting the extra money, since that was allowed . . .

Yeah, but it's saying something that I was just relieved it wasn't hideous! And it wasn't Amanda! I was worried it was going to be.
I cannot believe the ass-cheeks dress was safe!
Well, at least it was sewn correctly? And it is mostly Heidi's style. Ass cheeks and all, bwah!
My choice was Fade's, but it was way too elegant and classy for Heidi.
Hahahah Yeah, that's the only thing I can figure out.
I'm gonna have to watch the models next time. I just realized I haven't made any shoe comments, either. Walk & shoes may at least jazz up the commentary, if not the show. Remember when they used to do a model show? I liked when they featured them - not in their own show, that was stupid, but as the designers's muses. While they lasted, anyway!
Zac Posen moaned, "What can we give these designers to get better results?" Hello: More than ONE DAY to design and make a red carpet dress! Silly maroon.
God no shit. What do they expect?

Once again, I liked Amanda's. I would have eliminated the beading on the bottom and just left the bodice, though. Definitely thought the right person won. Kini's was also beautiful but it wasn't anything that we haven't seen before. (Maybe that's why he's not winning any challenges. His garments are impeccably made and stunning, but they're not unique.)
I think I disliked anything that wasn't in the top + Fade. Everything was bulky and awkward (Char, Alexander) or flimsy and trampy (Emily, Kristine) or just plain boring (Samantha, Sandhya). And I HATED Sandhya's fabric.

That's exactly why he's not winning. Also he always finishes early. Instead of sitting around chilling, he should be taking his garments to the next level. He dress wasn't impeccable either. The neckline is weird and I think he tried to hide it with that necklace. They should look real world perfect instead of just okay. He's not wowing the judges.

What's your theory on why Fade is getting ignored?

The cast is too large. I honestly don't think most of the safe folks are going to get much attention until the drama characters are gone. That includes Fade, Char, and Emily. I'm interested in what they are doing much more than the squabblings of Korina and Sandhya. I also think Emily, Char and maybe Samantha could really benefit from feedback from the judges. Just like Dmitry and to a lessor extent, Dom, I don't see it happening until final 8 at the least.
As much I liked Fade's dress this week. Much like Kini's it wasn't a dress that would stand out, or a dress Heidi would wear. I also agree with TLo in thinking the bottom needed a lining. Then again, that takes us back to the fact that they need more time to execute a red carpet look.
