My school sent out a notice to all teachers that in our classrooms, we're supposed to take some time to talk about September 11, 2001. Almost all of the children in the class were born in 2000 or 2001. This is not something they have in their memories and I had to stop and wonder if they needed to either. I was in an old fashioned library and Derek Jeter was looking at books on ASL and then started talking to me about it. I told him I could sign and talked about my students that I sign with. I get mad at Joe Girardi and then he reminds me that I really do like him. I disagree with how he handles pitchers (I'm of the Nolan Ryan school of starters) but he does his job, and that's the important part. He runs his team well. He doesn't have an easy job.
