This was a great read. I love the period you've set this in and you've transferred the characters perfectly - Raimundo as Ray is especially vivid but you've done an excellent job with Bene and Stanislaus too. I'm not very knowledgable about art but you've described the paintings beautifully and the gentle humour throughout the story is really enjoyable. I'm also anxious to see how the story finishes - hope you can get the rest up soon and really, really hope we see more stories from you.

Thank you very much for commenting and liking! And for alerting me to the problem of the end getting cut off! I've tried to correct it and hope it worked! (Sorry for the long delay in replying, I only have the internet access once a week right now - usually Wednesdays.)

Very enjoyable! I also would like to see how it ends. Thanks for a most interesting view of these characters!

I'm so glad you found the story and liked it - I keep looking at ds_flashfiction and wanting to post a challenge entry there, and when I saw YOUR suggestion I thought MAYBE my story would work, but, since I posted it to my journal, the story wasn't eligible for the challenge.

I have tried to restore the ending (such as it is) on the next page of the journal, and thanks to the superior Italian of J S Cavalcante, I've also gone back and corrected a couple of pronunciation errors - enjoy!

I just want to add that when I found this the other day I found the complete story and copied it to my hard drive for easier reading. So my review is based on the complete story.

It's only about two pages that's missing from this post.

I definitely enjoyed this so far, I do hope you'll re-post the section that got cut-off!

It really is a relief that you (and others) enjoyed the story. The end is maybe too abrupt, but there was a LITTLE bit that got cut off, and I have tried to restore it on the next page / next journal entry. Plus, having gotten advice on formatting from Isiscolo and Italian from J S Cavalcante, I have tried to incorporate their suggestions. Enjoy!

I enjoyed this tremendously!

Intriguing placement of these characters within a very different time and place. Bene's description of and reaction to that painting makes me really want to see it for myself. I liked the story of Stanislaus saving the local boy, and that sex scene was so delightfully metaphorical.

Well done!

Thank you for your kind words, I hope to be able to read some of YOUR stories soon! One day, maybe in a month or so, I could have internet access at HOME - and then I can kick back and enjoy reading DS fan fiction in privacy (right now I only have access at my local public library. Reading is possible, but it's not quite the right ambiance).

When I am connected at home, I hope to start sending out parts of a new (very long) story for beta-ing.

Thank you for reading, for responding, AND for writing your own fic!

Oh, that's rough. Public library internet access is wonderful stuff, but it's distracting, and I simply cannot read anything porny there.

I look forward to reading the new story!
