Back to Normal (almost)

I had my first week of teaching both classes and the first week of being on a truly normal schedule since everything that went down last year. I like both of my classes and they're ones I've taught before, but they're with new textbook requirements so they need some extra prep ( Read more... )

You went through a hugely stressful year. That stress doesn't just go away at once; it's a process. On top of that, we all have to go easy on ourselves, always, and now is no different for you. You're not a wuss. You're human. We all are, it turns out.

Thanks for the reminder. Chris tells me to go easy on myself at least twice a day and I do need to hear it. And today I found out there's a yoga class at noon on Fridays--perfect ending to the week!

Different situation, but I felt completely tired every night when I first started working a full-time job. I had no motivation to do things after work, whereas when I worked freelance, I was always doing things at night! Working hard for a good chunk of the day is hard for anyone, much less someone still physically (and mentally) recovering.

Good to know I'm not just being a wuss! This is the first time I've had a full-time schedule for the better part of a year and I've never in my life had to get up at 5:30am for a commute on a regular basis.
