An ordinary October day in the San Francisco Bay Area. The World Series is on tonight: Bay Bridge series, Giants vs. A's. It's Indian summer. Hot. REALLY hot. We're talking 94 degrees hot. A little unusual, but not enough to really concern anyone. My mom and I are shopping at T.J. Maxx, taking in the bargains, seeing what we can find for fall/

I was visiting friends in Santa Cruz. We were all okay, but just stunned at what happened in SC itself.

I'm utterly convinced I never want to live in California. Mother Nature seems hellbent on wiping it off the map. Between the quakes, the fires, the flooding, the mudslides, and the sinking into the ocean...yeah. I think I'll stay on the other side of the country, thanks.

Being trapped in a store during an earthquake would be awful! I'm glad you were able to move away.

I left for good in '98 when I joined the Navy, and I'll never move back!!! :)
