After much hellishness at work (one person out with bronchitis, another with a collapsed lung), I finally made it to see the movie Mirrormask last night. I had been waiting to see this film for months and months and months ( Read more... )

Huh Coldplay..really. They need to have like a world tour of the most depressing/mellow bands. Have like Coldplay, Postal Service, Aimee Mann, hmm maybe The Cure, and two or three other bands that have the general same feel, lol.

Coldplay can certainly be depressing, but I tend to like pretty mellow music.

I don't know about a tour of all depressing bands though. It might drive up the suicide rates. but it'd probably be a great show! Add in some Radiohead, a little Leonard Cohen. I'd probably go. LOL.

The musical number is one of the creepiest things I've seen in a good long time.

Have you ever thought about being a professional critic? You are so good at it, and the blurb in your blog really reads like a professional column. Just a random thought ;)

Ahh! You're sweet! I would love to be a critic, but unless you can get a steady job doing it, there's not much money in it. Maybe I should submit some review samples around though. It'd be fun.

I enjoyed shopgirl, even though it was slow moving and the plot was predictable. I kept waiting for a twist. But it was beautifully done nonetheless. Nice artsy fartsy stuff and shots.

Don't, I repeat, DON'T waste your money on Elizabethtown. It was WAY too long and the whole time I couldn't understand them talking to each other. It was like some sort of squirrel speak, 1,000 times a minute, and then half of it was touristy stuff (which was kinda cool) but not worth sitting in a theatre for what felt like a decade.
