Happy Mothers Day, Moms on Ye Olde Flist! I'm thinking especially of those of you for whom this will be your first Mother's Day ever as an actual Mom. Sounds like everything is going well, and that the stress you are under is at least the productive type (sending out queries, party planning, etc). Makes me happy to hear that you are doing so well! *hugs*

Don't let the querying scare you, just be prepared. Want my stats on how long it took and how many rejections I got? It took 6 months before Nic offered and in total I queried 145 agents in total. At the end, it was down to about 5 agents who had the full and of that group, 2 offered and I went with Nic.

Granted, I had an offer after 3 months, but the guy was a total shyster and I turned him down. Thank God I did that. Talk about a career ender if I hadn't.

I did it by querying 6 - 8 agents a week and kept a spreadsheet of who asked for what, and where they were in the submission process. If you want a copy of that Excel spreadsheet, I'd be happy to send it to you.

GOOD LUCK. Be prepared for a lot of rejection, but hang in there. Your agent is out there, you just have to find him/her. I started querying in June, didn't find Nic until November, queried immeidately, got an immediately full request and had an offer within weeks. It was all about finding the right agent. So stick with it.

I'm all about using other people's spreadsheets! I would be chuffed if you would send that right along since I started out a touch unorganized (which isn't that surprising, LOL).
