Why are my people so stupid

I was in the nail salon and this lady was in there getting her toes and fingers done. She was making conversation with the owners and stuff. Then she asked them bout Chinese food and if they had any so I was thinking to myself she thinks they are Chinese. I ignored it but then later on she was asking the spanish lady that works there how she knew

Quite a number of people I've met assume any Asian they come across to be Chinese. I mean, if you are one, it's fine, but if you aren't, it can be a bit embarrassing. I mean, as a Chinese I understand why some people think so, but it can be rather annoying for my Asian friends sometimes. It's a good thing to know what ethnicity people are, it's often most interesting to find out and know about.

I just shake my head and can't believe people do that. People need to be more informed.

I hate that. People really are STUPID. And besides, every single nail shop I've ever been in has been run by Vietnamese people.

I know some of the shops here are run by Koreans or Chinese but those are very few. The nail shop my mother goes to is run by a very nice Chinese lady. When she moved shops she even called my mother to let her know her new location. But you are right people are stupid. She could have at least asked where they were from.

My daughter thinks everything Asian is Japanese. I've finally got it through her head that she can't just assume that, because people find it rude. She especially does it when we go out to eat. Like we'll be at Panda Express and she goes, "I love Japanese food!!!" LOL But, she's only nine.

The nail salon I like to go to (I haven't had extra money for awhile) -- they're Vietnamese, lol.

Well I guess she can find the difference between Chinese and Japanese food on the net or something. She still has time to learn. It's the adults that should be shot for that.
