So glad you liked it! I am not reading the review in full because I have not had time to watch it yet. But I did see you mention that they are going to actually address the injustices done to the witches and all I can say is that if this show is actually going to address slavery in any kind of real way as opposed to just pushing to the background in the narrative then I will be a happy woman. Can't wait to watch later!!!
They mention it explicitly, I'll be curious to hear your take because - this show has so much of that other narrative running through everything, and it's gone so unexplored. But I liked how they referred to it this time because.... I'll wait for you to see.
Your comment on FF is actually wonderful, it's so depressing to me that people aren't talking about this openly and naming it for what it is. And I see critics laughing about this and it's SO PROBLEMATIC to me, I can't

Yeah, I agree, he's pretty equal-opportunity awful and violent - but I think the tallies of his moments with women are higher (at least in my head) and they have grooved impressions on my mind, can't forget them.
I honestly don't know what to think about Damon and his narrative arc. I think it'll be easier for me to understand perhaps at the end of the season. IDEK.
OMG WHEN I HEARD THAT I THINK I SCREAMED. The witches DO own Mystic Falls. I mean, damn, way to just put it out there, show. It would be truly amazing if the witches did defeat Santa, it would be great to have that kind of symbolic victory since they have been abused and used so damn much by him and these vampires in general but I doubt it'll go down like that. If Klaus is killed, the chore will go down to one of the main three, blah

Word about Jonas. I ffelt the creepiest vibes when i saw all this collection of grimoires and hear luka talk about witches seen as family. I love that the witches are the most powerful beings in the verse

My greatest fear is that DES will ally themselves with Jonas and reluctantly accept the status quo where Bonnie's powers are concerned. It would be betrayal of the basest kind and it would bring me to have major issues with whole the trio.
I wish i could think that the grpoup is contracting with Jonas to get Bonnie's powers back but... the promo let me suppose otherwise. They have not even SHOWN Bonnie.
i kinda want that Bonnie and Jeremy find a solution to fix the problem by themselves, but i'm still worried about how this situation might ruin my perception of the DESB platonic dynamics.
I feel like such a bad Bonnie supporter because since I know that Bonnie will not/cannot be without her powers for long, I haven't really complained much about Jonas stripping them away. I've been so focused to the point of obsession on Elijah's untimely "death". Seriously, I love him. I'm like a Damon stan in that regard. He can do whatever the fuck he wants and I will never NOT like him. It's just the way it is

I really hope Elijah returns - I'm not sure I really want to go back to Katherine as the primary antagonist. It'd be fab if the witches took over but I refuse to even hope for such awesomeness - also, it appears Jonas and Luka are working with Stefan and Bonnie in the next episode
( ... )
No doubt, she will magically disappear in the next episode and return with her powers restored and we'll never find out how it happened.
She's in the next episode and Stefan is by her side as they talk to Jonas and Luka at the Grill. So we will see how she feels about not having her powers.

He's so much softer. I really need to find out what broke him and put him on that path.
