I haven't really used LiveJournal in a while except to view a couple communities from time to time. There seem to be some weird changes. Adult Content??? (Okay, maybe that's been there.) Crosspost to Facebook?? But, I don't need to know how to use every little feature. I guess I'll figure it out.

Why do people who say "the biblical view of hell is not that of a mediaeval torture chamber" seem to think that that is comforting? Am I supposed to be reassured by the fact that my atheist loved one could have gone from earthly depression to just "eternal misery"? It's not physical torture, it's just everlasting mental torment.
