I can't believe I haven't posted this yet. It's been over a week since I went there, and abshnfsd. See, this is how much I neglect LJ orz.

Anywaaays.

Last Saturday (July 10th) I went to Chibicon with my best friends Amber (no lj) and saphitri. It was the first time I've ever been to a con, and boy, was it fun. We left at about... 7:30AM-ish,

If you want to cosplay, go for it! It really doesn't matter if you're taller or shorter or heavier than the character (I don't think ANYONE could be as skinny as those anime girls >_<; ) , it's all about the fun!

I don't know those characters though, do you have any pictures? For a first cosplay, it may be better if you don't try something that's too complicated to make, 'else you'll just get frustrated if it doesn't work out. (But that may just be me, 'cause I'm such a perfectionist... orz )

Or you could just buy a costume and be done with it, that's the most simple way to go. XD

Lol yes, as skinny as these girls might be impossible. Though game characters aren't usually as bad as anime girls, they're still quite skinny XD

I'm still doubting between buying or making the outfit. Like you said, it depends on how complicated the outfit it. I imagine Serah's clothes are pretty easy to find in a store, though I might need to make a few changes. Fang's is harder to make, but easy to buy. The price wouldn't really matter, I think. Gathering all the materials can't be cheap OTL. Oh well XD I'm a total perfectionist as well, so I might need to keep that in mind.

They both don't look too complicated, especially Serah's clothes. Yeah, I think you could probably easily assemble those from stores and then make some little changes. ^^ But Feng's outfit is really cool too, and if you can just buy one that looks good... (The reason I started making stuff for my cosplay is because I thought the stuff you could buy didn't look good enough. XD)

Ah, I dunno which one I would pick... They're both really cool...

I like Fang better in general, but Serah is easier. Hmm. Well, I think I'll just think it over a little before I actually start on anything. Surprisingly, eBay has some good Fang outfits... A lot of pre-mades aren't all that good but there are some good ones. I'll just take my sweet time, haha XD I'd rather spend a year making/buying it and making it look good than just throwing something together in a few weeks.

I think you've answered your own question! xD Honestly, the only difficult thing about Serah looks like it'd be her hair. xD Her hair is...interesting. >> I've seen people fussing trying to get all of their real hair covered since Serah's is so weird. But oh well.

Better late than never! And I knoooow, isn't it epic? I saw some other epic Shiva Sister cosplays over at deviantArt but I NEVER expected to see something so awesome in person! Happy fangirl is happy.

Serah herself is weird, lolol. Gah I shouldn't judge, still only at... Um. No idea. Nowhere near the end of the game XD But I should hope a wig will solve it. It'll only be a little trouble getting all my friggin' hair underneath it XD Oh well!

Looks like you had a lot of fun at the con! :D Haha, going to cons always inspires people to want to cosplay. I was tempted for a while until I realised I didn't have the commitment, time or money required. XDD

Cosplaying Fang would be majorly cool, I think, but her costume is probably harder to make than Serah's.

Gah, the money bothers me as well, haha. I'm such a cheapskate. The time doesn't bother me so much... Gives me a chance to lose some weight in the meantime XDD

Fang is so much more epic than Serah. I don't even like Serah all that much. But her outfit is just adorable, and easier to make like you say. Meh, I'll think about it some more. My next con probably won't be in a while anyway, haha.
