Today I have a lovely iced coffee and my results!  Hurrah!  And to add to the hurrahness, I got a 2:1 overall, which is perfectly acceptable.  And I've done better on the whole than I did last semester.  If I can keep up the improvement curve I might be in with a shot of getting a higher 2:1 next year.  I'd like to aim for a first but that's kind ( Read more... )

Yes, it involved studying a colonial text (passage to India) and then studying postcolonial texts (things that dealt directly and indirectly with the aftermath of the British empire, diaspora and all that) like Brick Lane, Interpreter of Maladies, Monsoon Wedding and so forth. Then comparing them, with a focus on what the romances in the texts have to say about the differences and similarities in the two situations. I ended up doing Interpreter of Maladies, because I loved the stories :)

When you visit me I'm going to make you try the dulce de leche frapuccino, I swear I could live of it. Again, congratulations for those terrific grades :D (it doesn't matter if I don't understand the system but I bet they are excellent hehe)

That sounds interesting.

I have no idea what those grades mean, but on context I'll assume they're all good.
