They live on the same street for two years, but it isn’t until sixth grade that Jensen and Garret have a class together. Not until then that Garret even knows he exists and then only as that weird kid who sits in the back row, wears too many clothes and doesn’t talk much. He’s older than everybody in the class. Slow or maybe retarded.

I'm happy to see this verse again, and happier that things are going well enough for you in various regards that you CAN write. I'm sure you've missed the creative outlet, and we've missed you! :D

I like this look at how Garrett and Jensen got to really meet. I think it's very like both of them-Jensen to just plunge in and help him, and then walk off, not expecting help in return; and Garrett, to decide to take him under his wing, starting to see below the surface.

It feels great to be writing again. We're talking about putting Sami into preschool two half-days a week and having me go write while she's there. We figure if I go home at all, I'll just fart away the time and have nothing to show for it.

I think this Jensen is one of the bravest characters I've written, if just because he is so very afraid and yet he does so much. I love writing the contrasts of him.

How exciting to see you writing again! This was wonderful. I'm very happy to see you add to this verse. I loved seeing the history between Jensen and Garrett. A very interesting back story it is too.

Thanks. :) I've had this meeting in mind since I started writing this, to explain how someone as popular and outgoing as Garret and someone as shy and isolated as Jensen became friends. This story leads to other things the readers need to know about Jensen's early life that he just wouldn't tell Jared or anybody. So I decided to just tell it.
