Ahh, thank you. This Jen is really hard to write. Like you said, heavy and dense with teh angst.
The dogs are at least neutral ground. And Garrett can be if Jared makes the effort.
Glad it's full of hooks. :) I'm trying to avoid the meladrama and angst-drown that throw me out of fics sometimes. But the way I've got Jensen set up here, I've forced myself into a darker past that I'd normally write.
My friend takes life-drawing classes and she says that she gets nervous and embarrassed looking at nude models, feeling a bit guilty that she's observing them so closely. Which always lead to a discussion about how the models must feel and about why they do it.
Its nice to see how Jensen feels and the distinction between the classes and this private session. I also love how you wrote Jensen's nerves and his behaviour - especially how he just folds in on himself.
Now comes the squee...
Oh wow! Jensen!!! *pets him and whispers cos I think my loud squee might scare him* I am so so intrigued with what Jensen's backstory might be. I guiltly enjoy screwed-up!Jensen way too much and greatly look forward to more.
This Jensen breaks my heart, yet I can't get enough of him -- or of Jared, for that matter. Thank you for revisiting this 'verse. Every chapter we get is an absolute treat!
Yay! I feel the same way (the can't get enough part). I thought the bunny was dead, and yet it lept up and bit me hard. Working on chapter 4 now. And rollerball (don't ask). And the Jeff/Dean.
I had no intention of reading this story since you said it would probably never be finished, but inadvertently read the first couple of sentences of this part - which made me want to read it from the beginning. Oh dear :-(
I love this Jared and Jensen. Hurt/Comfort stories are a favorite of mine and it looks like this story would have (will?) have a lot of it. All the nice little hints about Jensen's past are intriguing, and the way Jared is so sweet and gentle with him just makes me want more! more! more! :-)
Thanks for sharing this and here's hoping your muse is good to you and we get more of this wonderful story.
With this chapter, it's escaped the oubliette of lost fic. Working on chapter 4 now. I'm letting myself be more casual with this one, worrying less if I've got too many POV changes, or if sections or chapters are too short or long or whatever. It's sort of freeing.
Will have. Definitely. Much hurt/comfort, though I'm searching for Jensen's hidden strengths, and will focus on things like why he's Garrett's friend and not his pity case, and how Jared really sees him.
So you did read from the beginning, now?
Glad you're enjoying it. Thank you so much for taking the chance on my consistancy.
Oh yes, I went back and read from the beginning (and then read it all again later).

YEAH!!! Lucky us ;-)

Jensen definitely has hidden strengths - the fact that he went to Jared's even though it was making him so sick with anxiety is a definite sign of it. And I look forward to learning more about Garrett, and Garrett and Jensen's history. Basically, I'm just looking forward to more :-)
I'm glad it's okay to write about an OC. This is the fic where I felt like the audience would be expecting Chris Kane as Jensen's roomie and would be annoyed/thrown/confused when he wasn't.
I'm really pleased to hear that Jensen's relationship with his friend is interesting.
Jensen seems like he'traumatized, not just shy or lacking in self-confidence; he's ashamed of his looks and there's so much self-hate there, it's alarming. It's fascinating to see the differences in how he perceives himself and what Jared's actually thinking.
I'm going to watch this one unfold with fascination.
You were right to want an original character for this story. It wouldn't have felt right with a celebrity-named person trying to be the roomie, even if in this verse he wouldn't have been a star. The name still would have carried the vibe with it, if you understand what I mean.
Definitely glad to know you're going to continue this!
I think I might change the art teacher to an OC too. I was thinking about this fic, and how many steps from reality it is, like "how many points of departure does it take to move Jared and Jensen to this?" If I ditch Kripke as the teacher, I can do it in two--One for each of the J's.
That's one of the things that bugs me about having all these real people side-characters. I can see circumstances where Jared and Jensen meet in this place, but the more other people that are added into the mix, the harder I have believing it.

Sigh. this jensen is so broken. I feel guilty, how broken he is. But the plot bunny marches on, and so I write the fic.
Glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for your feedback.

His self-concept is definitely flawed. I think without Garrett he'd have been so damaged he'd have been lost.
Thanks for the review. At this point, there'll definitely be more to this fic.
