Aw! ♥ I love their mutual nervousness and how focused Jared is on taking away as much of Jensen's hurt as he can. And Jensen's mom--so hell-bent on believing that Jensen being gay is some kind of tragedy and her fault. It's like Jared somehow brings them all hope of working things out better.
I see Jared as one of those people who are really happy and can't stand for other people to not be. He'll play peacemaker at the risk of his own happiness.
Things aren't miraculously fixed, but at least now jensen has a clue what's going on in his parents' heads.
Oh, I'm sure they had lots of offers. Transportation wasn't something that Jensen wanted to rely on other people for, especially with his boyfriend with him. If jensen gets caught in an uncomfortable situation with no way to drive away that's one thing, but he wouldn't get Jared stranded with him.
Heh. Jared's all like "He's doing okay. He's with me, isnt he?" :)
*nods, relieved* Oh, that makes me feel much better. Wanting to rent is different from not having an alternative. *is more charitable towards the Ackleses*
Awww Jensen, and being so at ease with who he is at times. I love how he works like that. That he accepts so much of himself without thinking twice and how easy it is for him to explain to Jared and how impossible it is for him ot say it to his mother
He's worked so hard to accept himself too, refinding his faith, stopping drinking, deciding to make healthy decisions. There's still a lot of healing left to do in that family dynamic, but Jared's started it off on the right direction.
Yayz, more! Very good chapter. I lvoe the meeting of the parents. Love Jared getting slapped, and Donna thinking it's all her fault. And she mentioned his scar too, if he's ever fixing it.
I will never understand the God thing though. Never ever.
Love Jensen's clarification as to what really happened too.
mmmmm, scar. I'd had the slap planned from almost the very beginning. so it felt good to get that scene done.
I really wanted the parents to be a couple who really love their son. I think if they thought Jensen had dome something that made him gay they'd have an easier forgiving him than they had of forgiving themselves.
Whew! I found this part really emotionally draining. Good for Jared for not holding back, though, and for being so understanding with the mother and Jensen's position.
It was really draining to write. I'm so bad at having four people running around in the same scene. I had to go back and add the party to make it sorta-work. Ugh.
Jared's such a peace-maker in this. He just wants everybody to get along.

I love that Jay translates her mom-speak.
And no, modesty has never been his curse.
