every day I find it harder and harder to respect people who don't agree with gay marriage. I mean, with some thing, I understand that people have different opinions. Things like music, and movies, and social security.

But not this.

Becuase to me, it's just biggotry.

The more I think about it, the less I can respect at all the other opinion on this issue. Because to me it's like people saying "Oh well, it's my opinion that blacks are lesser humans than we are so they don't deserve any rights." And that is not a justifiable opinion, that is just wrong. Plain and simple.

God, Brit, why are people so STUPID and HATEFUL.

hi, I am very sorry to bother you at your personal livejournal, but you are a mod at a community I am in, and I was wondering if you could tell me how you made all fo the entries automatically friends-only? I looked in the faq and couldn't find anything about that. It would be very helpful if you could. Thank you :)

You can believe anything you want about gay marriage, and I am not going to try to persuade you to believe anything else. The thing that bothers me is the "there's no argument that could persuade me other wise" thing. You should always have an open mind enough to think through new information when it is given to you. Otherwise a person can just be closed minded and always "right" but never smart.

well that the thing ive probably heard just about all the arguments. i have a few friends who are agaisnt it. ive been open to hear the other side and take it all in but as of yet no one has made an agrument that was convincing, intelligent, and non-religous

I would say that when it boils down to it, the only "good arguments" against gay marriage in my mind is religiously based. At least people are then consistently standing up for what they believe. Not saying I agree or disagree, just saying that religious beliefs are the only consistent belief about gay marriage that isn't just blatant prejudice.

well i think i agree there. but when it come to law making id rather modern laws not be base on religous beliefs. there are too many in this country to take one and make so. you know? back in the day it made a bit more sense to use religon as a bases but now it's imappropriate to me
