I stepped out of my front door this morning on an unrelated errand, looked up at the sky and got a tight, electric little catch in my throat: I'm hitting the road again! Was wondering when that would finally kick in. *hums happily, needing a Snufkin icon ( Read more... )

You're leaving Tasmania permanently? Are you returning to Australia? ...Is it possible to have sympathy homesickness? I think I'm having it...

I'm so happy for you though! How exciting!

Yup, leaving Tassie for good ... the family home's being sold, and I'd have nicked off on my own when I got back either way. ^_-

Not leaving Australia permanently, though - goodness. (If you were an Aussie I'd start singing 'I Still Call Australia Home' here, but I'm sure we're the only ones who know it XD) No, when I get back I'm going home to my ocean! Western Australia is caaalling ...

Is Western Oz where your sis lives now?

How long will you be in Japan? I'm sure you've mentioned it before on LJ, but my 27-year-old brain is too old to retain such information. ^_~ Helen Auer, a fellow Elfwoodian and friend of Anne (I got to meet her when I went to visit Anne in December) is also heading off for Japan in a few months. I still need to tackle flying over the Atlantic Ocean before I try the Pacific. ^_^ But I would like to go to Japan one day. It was the movie Lost in Translation that did me in and made me want to visit that country ^_^

It is! She went West at the start of last year to work at a hospital. (They treat interns AND doctors like crap there, unfortunately, but that's another story :P)

And I shall be gone about 10 months ... until Feb 2008, I believe. Ooh, is she really? Where's she headed? Tell her to look me up if she's anywhere near Nagoya.

Japan is absolutely unique. So different and beautiful and slightly mad, and the people are just lovely. (In other words, you'd fit in on all counts XD *ducks under table*) You must go one day, you must!

Mmmmmmm, I love that 'hit the road' feeling. I'm glad my mom is coming out in June rather than August. I can drive her to the North Shore AND to South Dakota.

I'm going to miss you griping about Tasmania (though I WON'T miss how long it takes mail to GET there!). I'd love to visit that place.

(I had far too much fun installing my new Vue last night and going on a shopping spree for extras (so much better priced than DAZ stuff--$60 almost cleaned out my wishlist!). Alas, the website crashed (perhaps under the horde of happy new software owners) this morning, so downloading the rest of my goodies will have to wait. Now I'm just eager to get home from work so I can get back into it! I brought the 475 page user's manual along to console me, however. ;) )

Driving! I love driving! That's something else I'll miss, however cool trains are. Isn't it fantastic to just sit down in your car and go? <3 I bet you'll have fun with your mum.

Ooh, if you ever get a chance, definitely go. I have a feeling the Hartz Mountains would be just your kind of place. XD

Eee, it arrived? :D :D What did you buy? (And I thought the Poser manual was bad enough ... could kill a man with that O_o)

I've never gone on a long train ride. I suppose (hope?) it's less cramped than plane ( ... )

Oh, goodness, yes. I hate planes now.

*cackles*

No, no regrets yet ... I shall live vicariously through your rendering. XD Is Vue good with light sources? Poser spotlights have finally driven me around the bend (and I don't like the fact that you can't make luminous objects).

Copperllao!

Everyone should have a Snufkin icon, but I am slightly biased. At least if you're thinking like Snufkin it means you'll always be back.

We shall have to wait like Moomin for you to return with the touch of spring ^__^

Either that, or put up with my drivel all through the winter as well as I revel in the joys of JAPANESE BROADBAND!
