Oh, I love the Japanese approach to Ridiculously Excessive Praise. All I ever heard was "上手！上手！！" when I greeted students with the old konnichi-wa (which I KNOW beginner Australians pronounce as 'konneechy-wah' anyway *wince*). "Magnificent! Wonderful! Fabulous! You can say hello!"
