I couldn't help it! It's nifty and pretty! And I want to see whatever movie it's supposed to be promoting now, because it has a bit of an 'Arcanum' feel (Sierra *geekage*) and the rest of the website looks intriguing. And New Line Cinema are doing it. Ooh ( Read more... )

Looks like they're going to film His Dark Materials after all...my friends used to talk about what kind of daemon we'd have in school...

I can't wait to see this film! I love His Dark Materials and I've been waiting years for them to get their acts together. I always wanted a daemon when I was younger - I tried it yesterday and came up as an ocelot, twice, so I guess that's me pegged ^__^

Lorannon's a goose, well, who'da thunk XD

I've actually never heard of the book they're making this film from, but I really want to read it now. *hugs the Amazon* What a fabby premise! How come I always end up buying crap like 'The Harlequin's Dance' instead? O_o

*continues to sulk*

Ah, yes, I have heard of him. I haven't seen his books on sale in any of the places I usually haunt, though. :/

Hee. We've been looking forward to this film for ages - they were filming in Oxford in the autumn and it looked awesome then.

This makes me want to go and reread the trilogy - I've been teaching Paradise Lost, so it would be a nice juxtaposition.

Philip Pullman:
Northern Lights
The Subtle Knife
The Amber Spyglass

They were pretty contraversial in their day. I saw the stage production, it was excellent. (except the Bears. They screwed up with the Bears.)

I know the name, though. When was 'their day'?
