You know, it being the summer holidays and me having free time every day now, it would be really, reeeally nice to oh, I don't know, WRITE SOMETHING X(

I won't end up with anything, of course. They'll all wait until it's the start of semester and I'm getting classes sorted again, and then I'll get a "Hey! Hey! You know what would be great? ME ( Read more... )

...those seem to work on my muse. [cannot, curently, stop writing about attack pigs] Find a concept too interesting not to look at closer and keep scribbling notes/randoms until a plot bunny pops its little whiffly nose up to be ruthlessly pounced upon.

Those are mighty drums.

Attack pigs! Actually big pigs scare me quite a lot. >_> More so than Pratchett's attack ravens, definitely. Where did the attack pigs come from?

That's the most frustrating part! I keep coming up with interesting ideas - I have a whole LIST - but no-one bites. I write a paragraph and then scribble cranky lines through it all. It's been driving me crazy all year.

It's probably the lack of chocolate in my diet over here. MUST BUY CHOCOLATE. *bangs rhythmically on walls*

They come from Little Latrezet. It's an idea I've wanted to fit somewhere for ages and never got the chance to. With the Aldora project it's quite fine to wantonly abandon spare ideas to the four winds...maybe something within guidelines like that'd help? Tried drabbling?
You have my sympathy, anyway, it's no fun having a sick muse...perhaps it's Japan, change of water and all that?

[minorly intimidated by this display] I could send you some if it's not nice sorts over there...

Aldora looks great. I'll have to chime in one day when I get some kind of idea for it. How does Jon keep things like magic and history consistent? Do you all read up regularly on the encyclopaedia? *wonder* It's a really well-done site, and I do like the notion of not jealously hoarding all your ideas ...

Sorry, that was just my taiko chocolate drumming XD;; And oh, that's really sweet of you! (Argh ... no pun intended, I swear) Actually Japanese chocolate's really nice - inferior, but still nice - but my apartment's pretty hot in summer, so it just melts if I buy it and don't immediately eat it. I'll be back to my chocolate-guzzling best in September. But thanks very much for the lovely offer. ^_^

*pokes drabbles and characters with a stick* Do something! Dance! Jump!

Cool. The video was a bit dark *pokes screen*, but the movement and the coordination are incredible! (I think I'd be sore all over from trying to play drums like that.) Dance is just a wonderful form of art - too bad I'm way too clumsy. XD

And don't all characters do that? You could not stress about it and not even think about writing... read good, inspiring fiction/nonfiction? (Or read crappy stuff - it'd be nice if that could spur you into writing again). Or, go to more dance festivals and museums. Other nifty things that don't actually involve writing, really...

I can't live without internet. Even if it's just to check e-mail/post random thingies in my writing journals. >.> I wouldn't be surprised if I looked worse than a drug addict.

Happy...er, Tuesday?

One of my friends plays in a taiko group and you should see her after a performance - she just literally flops on the floor XD;; Real taiko players have muscles on their muscles ... you use your whole body to play the damn things!

I don't have much to read in Japan :( English books are too expensive (or indeed any books), and I tend to read books in a day or so anyway, so it's not economical ... luckily I've got the internet back and I can do some online reading again, because that's pretty much all I've got.

It's just. So. Frustrating. T_T I'm rejoining the workforce when I get back home, and I KNOW I'll never have this kind of free time again ... so what do the bastards do? Desert me!!

*gribbit*

I could go on, but I'm not without mercy. Happy Tuesday, hon! Good luck with your uni :P

Think I'd burst a lung, actually. Not athletic at all. XD I guess you'd stand a better chance if you start young...

:( Can you use the library (uni or public ones?) Or is the membership there also expensive/limited to actual citizens? Hm... you could try this. It has a lot of nifty texts. Dunno how good the translations are, but then I'm not terribly picky about these things. ;)

Ugh...work... go ahead, whine, vent - I hate feeling as if I have no time at all, when in fact I do, it's just full of junk that I don't enjoy like work or pointless classes. *hugs*

Thank you! It'll probably be a madhouse there. Or should that make me feel at home..?

I'm very jealous :) My brother and I saw taiko drums at a Japanese festival in London a few years ago and they were incredibly fabulous. He had to drag me away so we could see other things :)

Hmm, you can always join in the 'which character most deserves to be pushed in a river' game? That kept us going round Wales (along with its variant, the 'who most deserves to be attacked by peacocks' game)

I'll have some more Wind's Road when I get round to formatting it and shanra has Wales pictures if you haven't seen those yet :)

*drags herself back to lesson planning*

At the moment they ALL do! X(

(*cackle* Can I ask who fell prey to the peacocks? I think I remember mention of a river short floating around somewhere in the weekly updates, but I don't think I've read it yet ... was it yours?)

Ooh, yes, and Shanra's pictures completely slipped my mind - I'll go hunt them up. So nice to have a screeeen ;)

Have ... er ... fun with the lessons >_> Did you find a new place, by the way?

Ah, isn't that the Way of Characters, though? Mine do that as well. Free time=not a peep. Brandi has to write an essay by Tuesday and it happens to be 11:59 pm on Monday=write me! write me! write me!

I daresay there were drug addicts who looked better than me.Poor Lyss! I hope you didn't see any demonic babies crawling on the ceiling or anything :D [/Trainspotting Reference ( ... )

Oh, I could SO battle an audience here! They're like 60% tiny Japanese kiddies anyway, and we all know they're evil, so it would be a fight on the side of Good! You have inspired me!

Friendly Hostility, eh? I'll check it out. At the moment I only read a couple that update once a week or so (ah, nothing will ever beat Homestar Runner <3), so it's good timing ^_- Thanks, hon!

Oh, and D. PLAY THE ON-SCREEN DESTINATION TRACKER GAME!!

Whenever your aircraft passes within one on-screen centimetre of a major city, you make a 'ding-ding-ding!' noise 8D

Kept me and an eight-year-old Italian lad very amused en route to Singapore (well, okay, maybe *I* was amused) ...
