Blah blah blah blah

Well, my sister's off working and all other concerned parties have gone a-shopping somewhere I went yesterday, so here it is: a sort-of-proper journal entry! (Actually I should be packing my stuff up to take to Mum's house, but you know what I say to that? NYAH ( Read more... )

*snuggles* A Lyssa! 2007 was a mean year for many people. May 2008 bring you the reverse in terms of good things and all that. Glad to hear you've been enjoying yourself in the holiday period, though. ^-^

You too, hon! *glomp* Feh, it was only the second half of the year that got gruelling, and the rest of Japan on balance is still enough to make 2007 awesome. I am a ridiculously fortunate person who leads an obscenely lucky life.

I'd make you an orangepeel dragon but Aussie customs would probably incinerate it...I think Gandalf was probably paid in cheese and ale, like a mediaeval workman, that's why he needs a whole cart for a few crates of fireworks. So's he can take all the cheese away. [nods]

[truly random] O wise caveman-shaman Lyss, you keep dwarves - what do they think of dwarfs, and are there ever instances of dwarfisim amongst dwarves?

Boo...tôme to stop now, briefore the puns get beyond bearable...

Most recognised mythologies seem to consider dwarves a mistake...I wonder if their myhs say the opposite, like "and the jealous summer-god tried to make people as the all-god had done, but he could only find silver birches to make them of, so the folk he made were tall, pale, thin and not hardy at all, and not sensible at all from their heads being so close to the sun...

poor faedwarves...

Mm. It's a boggling thought...bonsai dwarves...

Aah, Muse. I love Muse. One of their earlier songs is Nawa to perfection.

*snugs* Hello, poppet. Happy New Year! (I will take on your bear wrestling challenge, but only if I get Rupert. Seriously, white trousers, he's asking for trouble. Or Paddington.)

Oh! I have photos you might want to see... one day, when you have a moment ^_^ Welsh Castles, anyone?

Eee, icon <3

I honestly don't know much at all about Muse yet ... which is the Nawa-song? (Do songs titled 'My Sulky Darling Koala-Shaped Incarnation of Darkness' gets distribution weight?)

Paddington has gumboots and is therefore awesome. But you can beat Rupert down with my full blessings - I don't like his voice. >_> Somehow I have become the Godmother of the Anti-Bear Mafia! This is awesome.

Speaking of awesome, I've seen those photos now, too. So beautiful and shiny and nowhere near me T_T waaah!

*chuckles* I've been waiting to use it. I think you're the only person I can really inflict it on.

Muse - they're from here. As in this very town in which I live. Went to the same school as my sisters.
Song is Dark Shines:
[Passing by
You light up my darkest skies
You take only seconds
To draw me in
So be mine
And your innocence I will consume

Dark shines
Bringing me down
Making my heart feel sore
Because it's good] 'n so on and so forth.

It's the marmalade sandwiches and the suitcase you have to worry about from Paddington. And the hat. Tricky things, hats.
Rupert's goin' down.

Good luck with the heiress *salutes*

I am well, although I seem to be taking a linguistics course this semester… 0_0 We’ll see how that goes.

Would an orange peel dragon bite your nose off if you sniffed at it? Or would it nuzzle you, or…? *has orange peel beside her - wills it to be dragon - nothing happens. Orange peel looks sad.*

*hugs* I hope 2008 is a good year - for both writing and study. It’d be nice to find a balance between the two.

Happy - what day is it today? - Saturday/Sunday!

Argh! Linguistics! That would be so awesome. Didn't have it at my two-bit uni. Enjoy and post often so I may live vicariously through your bewildering grammar studies! :D

I don't know why I want an orange peel dragon, but it was one of the first dragons I thought of when I was writing 'Dragonmakers' and it just stuck in my mind afterwards. Something about the texture of the skin, maybe. Oddness.

*hugs* You have a good new year too, me sweet! Here's to that fine balance ;)

Life's not about qualifications, it's about the experience and knowledge you gained, and what you do with it.

May 2008 be a happy year.

Well, I suppose ... though qualifications = better job = more money = more flights overseas / extra part-time study at a decent WA uni / a bicycle made of caramel.

Nah, only doing le josh - you're quite right, it's not as important as the outcome. I shall go forth, prosper and stick to the bicycle seat all the same!

Happy 2008 to you too, with lots of your own optional extras included :D

The qualifications = better job part is sadly true. They rather hire an idiot with a paper than a genius without any. But in this case they'll hard pressed to find one who did pass that monstrous Japanese exam thing. As for the sticking, a layer of chocolate does wonders. Then again, perhaps not in the summer.
