Well, I've survived the first week back on four hours of sleep a night - go me! BD (My own fault for writing down the wrong report deadline, completely forgetting a small test and being too weak to refuse invitations to eat sukiyaki yumyumyum.) Next week will be slightly quieter and more sleepiful ( Read more... )

Best of luck with both the world-rejiggling and the *gulps* public speech. Make sure to tell them you're a pastry! ;)

It is a known fact that greatspears make anyone cool. Even accountants and Abba fans.

*grins* Well, it could be worse! It could be Chinese! I personally thank my lucky stars (or, rather, lucky pebbles) every day that I decided to learn Japanese instead of Chinese. No intonation!

Ha!! They only want you to believe that ... HAshi/haSHI/Ame/aME/kuMO/KUmo... X(

But yes, public speaking in Chinese would be scary beyond all reason. It sounds and looks gorgeous, maybe, but aaaaaagh.

(plus the teensy fact that it's hard to make a public speech out of saying your name, counting, negotiating the price of a pair of trousers and then announcing you're going home, which is all I remember in Chinese *cough*)

Ooh ooh, could this be The Year? :D

Yes, the extended reflection thing is actually quite good, isn't it? Though I'm going ever so slightly batty without writing anything ... notes aren't quite the same ...

Let us faito in 2008 ;) *roars and hugs*

That's great news! It's wonderful to hear that you have figured out the underlying problem with what was stopping you writing. I'm looking forward to reading how it all turns out.

Thanks, hon. It's still quite scary to throw away that plot after so many years, but 'being old' isn't a reason purely in itself to keep something, is it? Has to be more to it than that. Plus it's not like I'm throwing any of the plot's inhabitants away (unless they annoy me ;). *hugs*

Urg. I will get to it, I promise. I'm supposed to be knocking out something for Deb Turpin's "Soulmates" project, but it doesn't seem to be happening much. Maybe I do need my old muse back.

And no, it isn't a reason to keep something, but it can make it so hard to get rid of it or even tinker with it. I pleased to hear that the familiar faces are staying, though.
