BEHOLD! THE FRUITS OF PATIENCE! or something. Actually I opened up the Talechasing Challenge Masterlist to start pondering over an update, given that it's the new year and all, and just happened to casually glance at this prompt, whereupon I was bitten.
Sososo happy, it's been forever! X3

Mad but utterly brilliant. *mimics icon*
Long live the revived muse! (Are you sure you're not killing it somehow all the time and Tintauri's having to revive it for you whenevr he's not busy doing the Queen's business?)
Long live Alyssa writing! And I'll go and add this to the round-up now, lest I forget...

Quite how you managed to give the impression of dark, twisted shapes of winter trees without mentioning any such things escapes me, but dude. Tints is like an icecube made of napalm

I've integrated the Northern lands (don't know if you're familiar with those, but they're Immovan Country), which were always distressingly nebulous to me, with the concept/storyline of the King/Queen and their fiefdoms. The North had a history (a loooot of history O_o) but it was horribly dry, horribly lengthy and far too detailed to ever feasibly include in the story. Now I can integrate all kinds of bits from it with religion, legends, history and historical figures, which makes it feel much more real to me :D
(Incidentally, I find it really eerie that I always referred to the ruler of the North as Lady Shanii, not Queen Shanii, as if this were Destiny!!111!! :O)
I've yet to decide what actually happened as an outcome with regards to the King/Queen conflicts - which I think I'm going to set back in the past before the events of Isaille and company - so I probably can't get started on the new Soulfire thing (or mention history in too ( ... )

By the way, how do you do that? All your creepy-insane-psychotic ones work so very well (I was going to say nicely, but that would be wrong). There's not a snowballs chance in Egypt that I wouldn't like them. I bow to your fearless forces. Even if I do find myself reaching for my scarf and gloves as I read.
(Lorannon is the exception here, but he's shiiny.)
A nice, neat, creepy snippet, me dear - and huzzah for the resurrected muse! Long may it prevail!
(*looks up* Does that mean Tintauri et al are connected to Soulfire now, or is it a nice, neat, side-along parallel - like Morgant and Cauis, only with zombies instead of celery, cows, tanks and funnies?)

Yes, the Queen/King and winterknights are part of the North's history now (who are in turn connected to the Divines I wrote about three or four times before, if anyone remembers those). I probably have to decide in a hurry who won and what actually happened, of course, before I can start mentioning it with the Soulfire bunch, but ahem >_>
Thankees for reading hon ^_- *glomp*
