Why? Why would you eat fifteen Anzac biscuits?

Also - you're joining the police?

I am joining the Major Crash Investigation Section, but not as an officer. I just work in the office. Apparently I don't even get a gun.

... why would you not? :D

I think my tutor once let me eat Anzac biscuits... My Aussie tutor, that is. (As if this really needs explaining.)

Except that I can't remember if they really were or whether they were tasty. >>

I hereby annex your memory to declaim: they were! :D

And now I shall annex your country so as to enjoy some spring weather. Someone six blocks from our house got a smoking lightning-hole in their roof last night O_o

>> You remember my mentioning them?

*hugs her spring weather* Nuuu. It shall be cold! But you can come for a prolonged visit. ^-~

Eek! *hugs* Although I'm glad to hear that it wasn't your house that got struck. That must've been terrifying. (How fares your laptop?)

I remember it distinctly! Because I annexed your memory! And I say so! *declaims more declaimishly* >_>

It was indeed startling, yerse. I woke up at 5am in a sort of 'fzzzblwhat?!' moment and sat up in bed, listening to the smaller booms and flashes that came afterwards. I don't know, though, could be the dry Australian "EEE RAIN EEE" reflex, but I'm actually quite fond of thunderstorms and lightning (though I'd rather it didn't scorch my neighbours' rooftops).

O_o Fifteen? My blood sugars are rising at the thought. And, yes, I know what they are, assuming Aussie ones are the same as New Zealand ones. My ex's mum used to make them sometimes, but they're not widely known here, sadly.

Congrats on the job. Civil service type applications must be a nightmare the world over - I've heard similar horror stories about forms (and the exam!) here.

I'm trying very hard not to think about the exam or the interview :/ :/ The app was horrendous enough. I counted at least seven coffee/grinding boredom breaks.

I'm pretty sure the Kiwis make them the same way. It'd be hard to ruin an Anzac biscuit, anyhoo. *happy sigh* I'm sure I won't look back on this with regret at all when I'm lying on the dentist's chair with my entire mouthful being replaced with enamels, nooo.

You guys do have gingernut biscuits, though. I'd say that's easily the equal of an Anzac. I miss those :( :(

Are we talking the crunchy kind or the chewy kind?

Glad to hear about the interim work. I know what you mean about the APS though. Any chance you might be posted to Canberra (Could you stand the cold?)?

Chewy! The crunchy ones always taste ever so slightly burnt. *connoisseur*

There actually is a strong chance I could end up in Canberra next year or the year after (if successful ;P). You're allowed to nominate your home state for preference, but if there are no positions available (as is often the case) the default training's always at our glowing national capital. Perhaps we could meet for a cuppa sometime! ;)

And meh, I've survived Tasmania ... I could take a short-term posting to the Antarctic at this rate XD

I prefer the chewy ones myself too :D

Woot! Well, I shall keep my fingers crossed that you remain in WA since that's where all your family, not to mention summer, are. But if you happen to end up over here that would be awesome and you'd definitely be on for a cuppa. Got your application in yet? ;D
