I just saw the news of Reuben Kee's death in a sports accident. Although I only knew him through his music, I'm still saddened. He was a year my junior, and for some reason, that makes me think of him as so very young. Too young to go, yet. I pulled an all-nighter last night with my cultural studies and writing skills end-of-term assignments. I do not, do not, so do not want to do it again. At least for a while. But I got everything done in time for the deadline, so that's brownie points for me. He he.

Having a couple of professional physicists actually take the time to sit down and answer your silly questions for your little practice essay is really wickedly great. It makes me have a lot more faith in the institution of University as a centre of learning rather than an elitistic ivory tower, which I was afraid it might turn out to be. I think ( Read more... ) -

It was pointed out to me that there's a lecture coming up tomorrow at our University on fusion technology, which was news that I accepted with glee as I'm in the process of writing an essay on the topic. Turns out that a lengthy hiatus of sorts "just happened" to this blog. It's been a crazy, crazy year, I tell you. Mayhem, death, coming out, mental breakdowns, things shaken up, movings, you name it. Maybe three or four hours ago, life outside the 'Net performed one of those surreal backflips life sometimes does and landed a number of people (including myself) in the middle of what seems less like our lives and more like a TV-series with a flair for tragedy. This is a fly. I swear. There's a good number of off-kilter associations and not-readily-sane reasoning behind this picture, but whichever way I look at it, it's still godawful. :D

Lack of sleep has resulted in four pages of plot outline for an original story I've wanted to do something about for months and never had the inspiration. I'm happy to have remembered a bunch of characters I really love, despite how silly it might seem to love your own characters. I woke up this morning from a dream where I was having my face done without anaesthetics. I only wanted them to fix my dislocated jaw and then they started whittling away on my nose with something that looked - and felt - like it belonged in a woodwork class.
