I have not set foot outside the flat for two days, and even the last time I did, it was to see why there were seven fire trucks and an ambulance congregated on the street in front of the supermarket next door (turned out to be a massive reaction to a bit of smoke, but better that than the other way around). Consequently, I feel like my skull is ( Read more... )

It's somewhat amazing reading your writings and finding them very good... And then thinking about all the crap published by publishing houses!

Oi! When are you going to start posting your own entries so I can reply to them? :)And don't flatter me; it'll go to my head and then I'll be so full of myself that even I can't stand it. XD

I have to agree with you, though, in that not all things that are cranked out by publishing houses are actually well-written. Did you follow that debacle over Susan Kuronen's "scandal" book, for example? If that leaflet is worth reading I'll eat my head.

I'm not a blog oriented person... And right now my life is quite boring: wake up, go work, come back home, doing works here (for example, installing a new power plug, moving the antenna cable, mounting some furnitures) and go sleeping; nothing interesting to write ;).

We had a kind of interesting discussion on lunch with colleagues time ago. We all agreed that since most people like to have only non-highbrow entertainments writer write mostly silly stuffs (same for cinema and tv). At least I find it somewhat sad!

Hey, look at my blog; the only things I talk about are games and some random stuff my brain spat out after being deprived of human contact for too long. :D

I dunno... I somehow have the impression that this is also a problem with the perception of the people who select what will be written/filmed/shown, who think no one cares about serious stuff. I guess it's also about cost-efficiency; those who pay would rather go for something that'll elicit one or two tepid laughs out of most people than something that might alienate a number of the viewers even though others would love it. Controversy - which is an integral part of the "high-brown entertainment" - isn't believed to bring in big bucks.
