She's not being "maternal"; that's just how anyone treats a vulnerable person they care about. I'm like that with people I love nowhere near as much as I love my children. Love isn't limited by genetics or labels.

This is a wonderful fic! I'm very interested in Andromedan culture so I'm glad you've explored some of it here. You've made the characters and Radu's background very realistic. It was really nice to have Radu and Miss Davenport have a 'heart-to-heart', they often don't interact too much so when they do you get more insight into their personalities. I hope you write more SC in the future, you have a really good writing style along with your insightful concepts.
