Power was back up on Monday. I got a call Tuesday to schedule a time to go down to Central Office and sign my contract for school. Did that this morning. Only thing I have to figure out now is how to get insurance for two months since COBRA ends this month and new insurance won't start until September 1st.  I'm going to call the people who handle

I had a boss a few jobs back who'd had a spinal tumor removed, and she was on a High Risk plan the state managed... it's not Medicaid (because you pay for the premiums and have all the other joys of insurance) but they have to take everyone who's "high risk".

I looked into the Risk Pool, it's over $500 a month. All I need is something to cover me for two months,but I don't want to pay over $1,000 just in premiums. Especially since we can't afford the COBRA payment let alone an increase.

Good grief... that's enough to pay for several doc visits and meds! Ex-boss' insurance wasn't that bad in premium (thank goodness, since the company picked up the tab).
