This weekend I have to focus on writing IEPs for the three ARDs I have next week. We have been given a new way to write our objectives, so I have a lot of work to do. I am going to join the Walk for Autism group tomorrow for a 2 mile walk to raise money for Autism Research. Most of the students I work with have autism. I am looking forward to it and am trying to raise money to support the research.

I went up to school today to see what I could get done in my room. Not much.....the room was disheveled and everything was placed randomly. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternon has turned into a painful, expensive afternoon. My 2 year old German Shepard/Lab mix bit me on the foot as I attempted to step arround her to get something from the kitchen. I've been so busy the last few months and will be busier as the school year draws to a close. I have so many trainings that I am going to and lots of other events going on.

Will update more specifics later. The rain is making me sleepy.  

Yesterday, we had a teacher workday that went well. I got a lot of things done, but my hip had been bothering me off and on. That happens to be the spot that I had just removed my insulin pump's site from. I get home and the spot is red, swollen, and warm to the touch.  That's the best way to sum up my life lately. School is going great. I had my formal observation the Thursday before we let out for the Christmas break. The kids were all hyper and I felt like it was very hectic, but my principal said that it went great, so that makes me feel better. I start new teacher orientation on Monday the 13th. The teacher shower that my mom threw for me on Saturday went very well. I got a lot of supplies and a lot books for my classroom library. I also got to visit with some old friends and some new friends ( Read more... )

Power was back up on Monday. I got a call Tuesday to schedule a time to go down to Central Office and sign my contract for school. Did that this morning. Only thing I have to figure out now is how to get insurance for two months since COBRA ends this month and new insurance won't start until September 1st.  I'm going to call the people who handle ( Read more... )
