back up all your data onto cdr or whatever and reinstall windows. if this is a software problem, this will fix it.

Thank you for your suggestion. It sounds logical right now except for one problem. Mom gore on her cleaning sprees and poof my OS disk for vitsa is missing at the moment. Bad thought being if it got shifted to the record room I might as well let the comp die >.>

Do you really want to re-install Vista anyway? Might be a sign if you can't find the disk.

Well its like this.... Basically if I do decide to go back to XP I need all downgraded drivers which I hear are extremely difficult to find.I still have the original XP OS though if it came down to that answer. Another thing I need right now is a damn good virus protection... know any offhand?

-snugs- Rein, I use Vista as well, but I believe you more than likely picked up a virus from the sounds of it. (I noticed right away something was up when you said the computer just refused to shut down ( ... )
