Christian meets Aeryn. They are both quite drunk and after a wrong word or too, he's crying at her shoulder and they talk about love. Christian finds out that her love has died also, but although that would be common ground to start from, they don't get far, disagreeing on whether you should let love happen again or not.

Christian has another chat with Lincoln and offers to accompany him if he goes back to his time.

Christian meets a woman, who doesn't believe in love and a man who claims to look like himself.

He encounters a werewolf and meets Sarah Rainmaker again. He finds out that she's a super hero and can control the weather- and is from the future, just like Lincoln. But it seems to be another future...

Going down to the bar again, Christian meets a talking parrot and a woman who's name is Angua and who's guard in a city watch in a city he's never heard of. He learns there are not only talking animals in the bar, but that there is a bar security and, what's more interesting, there is more than one world, after all.
