What I haven't been able to understand, either, is this:
Who keeps the child? Is the woman who is chosen to be inseminated just a recepticle who will then hand said child over to (obviously nuts) grandmother for raising? Or will she raise the child and bring it for visits to grandma's house?

I know. I kept looking around, waiting for the punch line--it HAD to be something from The Onion, right?
Nope.
We do so much good with modern medicine, but then comes something truly as bizarre as this.
Just because we have the ability and CAN do something, doesn't mean we HAVE to.
