Продолжаю раз в месяц делиться с ванкуверцами и гостями нашего города списком запланированных мероприятий и событий, о которых мне известно. Список пополняется в течение месяца.
О многих предстоящих событиях можно узнать в рубрике "Афиша" газеты "Ванкувер и мы", в которой публикуются мои разноцветные мыслишки. (Список точек, где распространяется газета - здесь).

Присоединяйтесь все, кто живет в Ричмонде, планирует там жить или просто любит гулять в нашем городе. 3. Festival of Lights - VanDusen Botanical Garden
When: 4:30pm - 9pm nightly, December 10, 2010 - January 2, 2011 (closed December 25)
Where: VanDusen Botanical Garden, 5251 Oak St., Vancouver
At the Festival of Lights, VanDusen transforms itself from a serene botanical oasis into a winter wonderland. Millions of colourful lights are strewn around flower beds, trees, shrubs and decorations, combining to create an awesome spectacle.

4. Christmas at Canada Place - Downtown Vancouver
Mid-December - December 31, 2010; 2010 Dates TBA
The iconic sails of downtown Vancouver's Canada Place are the site of another Vancouver holiday spectacle: the On the Sails light shows, happening daily from 6pm to 10pm. Viewable from Coal Harbour, Stanley Park, the North Shore, Gastown and Carol Ships on the water, the sails' transformation into a dazzling display of light and colour is a fantastic, free way to get in the holiday spirit.

5. The Nutcracker - Downtown Vancouver
December 29, 2010 - January 1, 2011
Can it be December without The Nutcracker, arguably the most famous and beloved ballet of all time? A close friend of mine makes it an annual tradition to see The Nutcracker with her goddaughter. It's a beautiful way to make memories, dress up in your holiday best and support local arts all at the same time.

Hunt at 6th Avenue, Steveston Start at Hunt Street, First Ave - Third Ave, down to Moncton, then to Steveston Community Centre Held by Steveston Rotary.
December 23, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Special guest "Santa" and a variety of floats, marching band, community organizations as well as festive entertainment. Rotarians collected non-perishable food donations that are put into hampers and delivered to seniors within the community. All other food is delivered to the Richmond Food Bank for regular distribution. As always, any cash donations received during the parade is donated to the Richmond schools breakfast program.

Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum - Burnaby

Enjoy the boughs, red bows and all the other old-fashioned ornaments and decorations throughout the village and farmhouse. The season features traditional entertainment, demonstrations, hands-on activities and exhibits from the early 1900s. The daily craft is as popular with children as is a chat with Father Christmas. Highlights include: Father Christmas; Footlight Theatre; Baking in the Farmhouse; Twelve Days of Christmas scavenger hunt. Musicians, entertainers, demonstrators, story tellers, community choirs and heritage crafts are also scheduled throughout the season. Check the website for more details.
