I am Unohana Retsu, captain of the 4th Division of the Gotei 13, the shinigami army of Soul Society. And before you ask, no, I am not related in any way to the shinigami you know in your world. We are from different dimensions.

[Mello listens closely, more than a little on edge by the unspoken familiarity in her words - "the shinigami you know in your world". It might sound innocuous to most, but for Mello, the existence of shinigami is tied to the Death Note - which is tied to Kira and Near and himself, and not something that's usually common knowledge. Mello prefers it not being common knowledge.]

Is that a fact. Well, if you're from elsewhere, how do you even know if there's shinigami where I'm from?
