(hugs) You'll have some great memeories to look back fondly on. The DAC has done his job and he's going to a good cause. Whatever the outcome, in the end you let him go out help someone...thats as fitting an end to that little trouper as I can imagine.
*hugs back* And the memories are what are really important. I'm glad that it will be helping someone else, and that the critters at the shelter will have a little more because of it.
No F'in way! Though I do thank you for doing it in the manner in which you did. I need to think about something like that for the Snow Bunny. (My 280Z)
I was very hard to do, but at the same time, freeing. I had always worried about when I was going to fix it up, when I was going to get the area along the garage paved so I knew where to park it, etc. And it was so sad to see it just sitting there, gathering dust and rotting away. This way it will live out it's days moving, getting used. And I hope the Dumb Friends League gets at least a couple hundred from this. That's who really needs the help, the critters. And that's what cinched the decision, is knowing I could use it to help animals.
So I absolutely understand not wanting to let go. Vehicles can sometimes seem almost like pets or even kids themselves... *hugs*

Perhaps you should write all your memories of the DAC into a book. Don't forget train hunting.
